Our Spiritual Mission

Under the educational auspices of Fu Jen Catholic University and based on Catholic humanistic principles, our mission is to cultivate teachers who excel not just in subject specialization, but possess deep devotion to human growth. We emphasize the harmony of body, mind, and spirit (知人、知物、知天).

Through service-oriented training, active collaborative projects, and local school partnerships, we ensure our teacher candidates are fully prepared for the complex, bilingual, and technology-augmented classrooms of tomorrow.

FJU CTE Signature

Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Zone

At FJU, we believe future teachers must be active problem solvers. Our signature PBL modules integrate collaborative instructional design. Student teachers collaborate in cross-departmental groups to analyze real classroom challenges (e.g., student motivation drops, multi-cultural integration, AI-assisted cheating) and engineer practical, engaging instructional interventions.

Credentialing Process

Educational Internship & Licensing

Obtaining your schoolteacher license in Taiwan follows a rigid, federally-mandated 5-step track. Our center guides you seamlessly at every transition.

01

Academic Coursework

During Undergraduate or Graduate Studies

Complete your degree studies concurrently with the CTE educational modules (26 credits for secondary, 40 credits for elementary). Candidates must maintain a strong GPA in core modules.

02

Pedagogical Observation & Field Practicum

Pre-requisite for the National Exam

Before qualifying to register for the national exam, students must execute at least 54 hours of pedagogical observation and micro-teaching trials in our partner secondary or elementary schools.

03

National Teacher Qualification Exam

Administered Annually by MOE

Candidates sit for the national examination testing primary educational foundations, learning development, and secondary/elementary subject pedagogical knowledge. FJU students consistently achieve a 98% pass rate.

04

Half-Year Full-Time Educational Internship

August to January OR February to July

Interns are placed in accredited partner schools for 6 months of full-time, hands-on teaching, classroom administration, and student guidance under senior mentor teachers. FJU maintains partnerships with over 50 schools.

05

Teacher License & School Placement

Career Readiness

Upon positive internship evaluations, the Ministry of Education issues the official Teacher Certificate. CTE hosts school recruitment workshops, mock selection interviews, and local school career panels to ensure rapid placement.

Adding Extra Specialties (中等加科 / 國小加註)

Already have a teacher license or enrolled in a track? You can apply to add additional certified teaching specialties (e.g. adding 'Math' or 'English' to an active social studies license). Candidates complete specific subject credit portfolios designated by the Ministry of Education and evaluated by our center experts.

Bilingual Teacher Cultivation Program

Under Taiwan's bilingual educational policy, FJU CTE offers specialized bilingual teacher training. Active candidates with verified CEFR B2 english proficiency or above receive access to high-demand EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) classrooms and exclusive government bursaries.

Student Life & Community

Education Student Association (師培學會)

Join a thriving, self-governing peer community of future teachers. The student association builds bridges between educational levels, designs developmental activities, and supports peers.

Empowering Peer Synergy

The Education Student Association functions as the official liaison between students and the CTE administrative office. We organize academic panels, teacher exam study groups, curriculum resource banks, and mock teaching contests where peers evaluate each other's lesson deliveries.

Importantly, the association drives our annual **Albert Schweitzer Humanitarian Camp (史懷哲教育服務營隊)**. Each summer, a cohort of 30+ passionate teacher candidates spends three intensive weeks in remote elementary and junior high schools in Taiwan, delivering specialized science, arts, and english camps for disadvantaged children.
